After Sheldon says it’s time to play, Meemaw is annoyed that she’s not in charge. He suggests combining their names, Sheldon and Meemaw, and quickly comes up with Emelda Showmen. When George wonders how his son knew that, Georgie reveals he took an auto repair class last year and surprisingly paid attention.īack at Meemaw’s, Sheldon says they need to name their character. Herschel is impressed by Georgie’s knowledge. George is worried it will need a new radiator, but Georgie points out that the thermostat might not be opening right. George explains that the pick-up truck has been running hot. Elsewhere, George and Georgie arrive at Herschel Sparks’ auto repair shop. Alas, he now wants to read the manufacturer’s warranty. Meemaw is excited when he finally says he’s ready. Sheldon insists on reading the instructions first. In Meemaw’s living room, she is bored as she waits for Sheldon to finally start the game. In response, Meemaw tickles Sheldon and he agrees to play. After Meemaw decides she’ll play by herself then, Sheldon is tickled by the idea of his grandmother playing video. When Meemaw presents Sheldon with a video game console that she won bowling, he admits he doesn’t think video games are a productive use of his time. Goodyear, Firestone, somebody's gonna scoop him up first round. Herschel Sparks: I am telling you, your boy's got a future in the tire business. George Sr.: You know, now that you say it, whenever we had a leaky football, he knew exactly where the hole was. George Sr.: He knows? Herschel Sparks: He knows. But your son, he doesn't need any tricks. You know, slap some soapy water on them, look for the air bubble. George Sr.: Tires? How do you mean? Herschel Sparks: George, I've been patching flats for 25 years. But when it comes to fixing tires, I swear, I've never seen anything like him. I mean, first off, the kid really knows his way around an engine, which is all well and good. George Sr.: A gift? We are talking about Georgie, right? Herschel Sparks: Yeah. George Sr.: And that would be? Herschel Sparks: Your son has got a special gift. Herschel Sparks: I appreciate that, but you got to know there's an upside to this.
